Shannon Sommer is an Underwriter and Claims Analyst at Lawley, analyzing medical and pharmacy claims for clients and presenting the data in a way that clients can find meaningful and valuable to help understand their health plan performance and better manage their health care costs.
Shannon began her career in the underwriting and reporting department at Lawley in October of 2011. As an underwriter in the Employee Benefits branch, Shannon analyzes medical and pharmacy claims for clients. She prepares various reports, presenting the data in a way that clients can find meaningful and valuable. The data tells a story. Shannon’s goal is to use the story to help clients understand their health plan performance and better manage their health care costs.

Shannon coaches youth basketball and is a volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement of WNY – teaching elementary aged and middle school kids about real life experiences in the business world and how to prepare for future careers. She has been a Big Sister & Mentor since 2014 through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County (Be-A-Friend) program.
